What is Azimo

The British, Polish fintech start-up Azimo was founded in 2012 to make money transfers easier, cheaper and more accessible. Azimo makes it possible to send money to almost every country in the world. In addition to money transfers, other options such as bank transfers and the charging of a mobile wallet are possible.

Azimo's target group are migrants who use remittances to send money to their family in their home countries. This makes Azimo an alternative to providers such as Western Union or MoneyGram, with the difference that transfers can only be booked online.

Of course, you also can use the service for business transactions or other reasons to send money abroad.

Azimo Review

Azimo enjoys a great reputation among its customers. Because of the great coverage and the possibility of cash transfers, Azimo can especially be a great choice for money transfers to less developed countries, which aren’t served by many other providers.

Another highlight is the convenient handling. Booking a money transfer online or via app is simple and fast and you can choose from your favorite check out options.

However Azimo's fees are those of a premium provider. We would like if Azimo would at least consistently undercut the fees of Western Union or MoneyGram - but it is not always the case. In particular, when a large number of providers are available for a foreign transfer, there are often cheaper alternatives.
